Long story short, I didn't work as hard freshman and sophomore years because i was more dedicated to basketball, but my junior year changed and i worked so hard to have a chance at my top schools. I live in CA and i go to a good public school. I have take all honors and AP classes throughout high school and never gotten below a B-. Freshman year i took all honors and got a 3.2 unweighted gpa. Same thing with sophomore year. Junior year, i took AP english, AP environmental science, ap u.s history, and honors pre calc. I finished with straight As both semesters. Senior year i plan on taking AP eng, AP calc, Ap physics, and Ap gov/econ. During the summer at a local city college i took intro to business and marketing 101 and first semester of senior year i will take my 4th year of spanish. These cc classes count as Ap college credit. I scored a 2080 on my SAT and a 32 on my ACT. My extra curriculars in short are Varsity basketball for 3 years, a sports drive that helps donate sporting equipment to less fortunate kids and this gets a lot of publicity and i am a leader, national honors society and CA scholarship foundation member, help with a basketball clinic for younger kids at camps, green club, business club(these clubs are minor), help manage my families small business that is a photo booth that goes to weddings and events, and finally a month long business class at USC that was great and hopefully looks good on Apps. Over 400 hours of community service and assuming my reccomendations are good and have great essays. Ability to pay for any of these schools is not an issue for me. In summary, Weighted gpa will be around 4.2 or 4.3ish, unweighted around 3.5, top 20% with 600 kids in my class. 2080/32 for tests. Will my upward trend and stellar junior year with rigorous courseload throughout high school and decent test scores, ECs, and USC business class help me get accepted into any of these schools?

UMich and USC are reach for you. I know it may be hard, but you do need higher GPA for top schools.

Your SAT and ACT are great for all of those school. However, your GPA could use some help. I totally understand, though, because I was quite a slacker freshman year as well haha…just keep working hard this year!
