Getting my admission to CAL cancelled?!

My situation is still in limbo haven't heard anything yet but keep getting calls from alumni congratulating me on my acceptance and newsletters on upcoming events for the fall 2005 quarter at ucla all this is making me worry even more for some odd reason will let everyone know as soon as I hear something in case it helps any of you or answers any questions you guys have. Good Luck to those of you still waiting to hear about your status aswell. Lets hope for the best

I'm praying for you brother!

s4u - I just dropped one of my classes and I PRAY that it won't kill my admission to UCB. It won't affect my IGETC at all, but I'm still concerned. I'll let you know/you let me know if annything changes.

Oh, and I did update my IP courses on the Berk site just two days before the decision...BUT the date on the decision letter reads 4/13/05 so they probably didn't look at my update.

Thanks bro

This might be your ticket to getting in. You did, after all, update them on your class change, it's their fault they didn't notice it. If I were you, I'd play it cool and pretend nothing happened and send in your transcript after this quarter.

Since its my schools messup they made an exception in my rare circumstance since it was out of my hands.

Also as long as you meet your 60 units and your IGETC your drops don't matter for the rest of you.

collegeman123 how do you know it doesn't matter? this would be a big relief for me if you knew for sure.

Collegeman -- I'm so glad it worked out for you! Congrats!

called berkeley again this morning...
they only asked me 2 questions: will you still have 60 units by the end of the spring? Will you complete the IGETC by the end of the spring!
THATS IT! (i can finally drop that math class without any worries)

congrats guys! i had a different problem: my conditions state that i need to complete IGETC, which i never intended to do (i was going to do essential skills), and it appeared that it was their mistake, thank God.

see you all at Cal!

danzz did they say anything about having excessive w's?

errr....sorry..i forgot to mention that...but i think it would be fine as long as you will still have 60 units and complete the IGETC by the end of the spring.

Alright here's the latest... I just received a call from an admissions rep wondering if I was going to attend the AAP scholar's event and I did make my rsvp and took the opportunity to ask her about my situation she told me that I was fine as long as the courses I dropped were not IGETC, in my major, "or anything else major like that" Whewww! what a relief I thanked her and again she said "your'e fine congratulations again on your admission see you here, if you have any other concerns or questions make sure you talk to a ucla rep at your college or your local counselor. Hope this might ease you people's concerns. Lates

awesome, we're in the clear!!! see at berkeley, kids.

add some more info for you guys, its about UCSD.

I sent an email for asking the same question about dropping one of my major courses in UCSD (Linear Algebra), and I thought they would really revoke my admission if I drop it.
But guess what, I received an email few minutes ago from UCSD'a admission office, saying that:
We will be looking to see that you have met minimum eligibility which
is 60 UC transferable semester units by the end of Spring and we will be
looking to see if you have your two English Composition courses, one
Math transferable course and at least four classes from two of the
following areas: Arts & Humanities, Social & Behavioral Science and
Physical and Biological Sciences. If you decide to drop this course,
make sure you follow the above guidelines.

yeah, as long as you meet the "basic' requirements, you will be fine.
