Getting new books: Is it really worth it?

Hi all,

I had a question. I have some SAT II and AP books that my brother bought, but they're from 2006-2008. Do you think they're outdated? Is it worth getting the latest edition of test prep books? If a test's curriculum has changed since then, please let me know.

I’m not sure if the curriculum has changed for SAT II. If there is a new edition it should be on the book (eg the blue book says “second edition” very loudly on the front cover). Personally I like writing inside the book itself; it’s a lot easier and doesn’t require you to organize some sort of notebook. So if the book isn’t outdated and there isn’t writing in it, I’d reuse it. However, I would definitely get new AP books because AP courses undergo a curriculum/exam question review and change every 2-5 years. Good luck!
