i'm pretty sure brown doesn't have that. when i visited brown i drove from the airport in RI.

hm when you visit brown, schedule your interview and get it done then. it's definitely good to do an on-campus interview, because you have a better chance of actually getting to talk with admissions officers. alumni are good, but who doesn't want the admissions officers themselves to get to know them? i was a little nervous when my dad scheduled interviews FOR ME when i visited colleges (he told me about it on the day of the visit!) but they went surprisingly well. so pack some nice clothes and do an interview.

"As of the 2003-2004 academic year, we no longer offer on-campus interviews."

Alumni are much more fun anyway :-).

As for getting to Brown, it's only a 15 minute walk / 4 minute cab ride from the city, so having it's own bus wouldn't really make sense, but it's easy to get there nonetheless. Take the T commuter rail on a weekday or a Greyhound or Bonanza bus from South Station on the weekend. You can get a cab at the Train or Bus stop, or you can walk - either will be easy.

Which academic year did you apply for? I was under the impression that only alumni interviews are offered now, that too, after applications are submitted.

Also, what are the questoins they asked you?

thnx a lot for your help guys i visited the school last Friday by taking the 802 train on the MBTA commuter rail....i absolutely loved the school and Providence...i liked it so much im even thinking about applying ED...but ill wait and see after ive visited some other schools i have in mind =D

and again thnx a lot for your help guys =-D

Just got back from taking my daughter to the summer session. With the traffic problems caused by the Big Dig disaster, and the possibility that the traffic delays will continue for a long time, I advise strongly against the bus. I was told when I called that they are tacking on an extra hour (to an already long ride) because of the traffic. And it is maddening to sit in a parking-lot type situation.

I took Amtrak from Providence to Boston, then the subway back to the airport and it worked just great. 35 minutes on the train $15.00 one way, and 1.25 for the subway of course. Plus about $5.00 cab ride from the train station to Brown.

i just took the MBTA commuter rail straight from South Station to Providence for $12 round-trip....oh and i went on my own so i did'nt have enough money for a cab so i just walked all the way from the station to the school =P

I don't know if anyone has answered your question, I didn't bother reading the other post (lol). You can take a Bonanza bus from Boston and get dropped off at Kennedy Plaza in Providence. Once in Providence you can hop on a East Side trolley and get off on Thayer, walk about two minutes (up a little hill) and you'll be at the main green.

Walking from the train station to the school takes about 15-20 minutes in nice weather, and a little more if it's snowy or icy going up the hill. The bus station is 5-10 minutes.

i took like 15mins....the school is not that far fromthe train station so its really accessible by foot....u could take the trolley and get there faster (wish i had known that) =P

also a question to you guys actually at Brown...is the rest of Providence this accessible by walking?? or is it like Miami where you need a car to get anywhere??
