What do most students do -- take a cab? How much does it usually cost?

You can take a cab or MARTA. MARTA will take longer, but it’s far cheaper. If you are an international student and are doing that orientation, I believe Emory will be sending its shuttles to the airport for particular timeframes, in which case the trip is free.

One way is to take MARTA (subway) from the airport terminal to Lindbergh Station. There are always taxis waiting there for a short ride to campus and nearby hotels.

Another way is to take Atlanta Superior Shuttle direct to your destination.

Taxis are cost effective if you are traveling with a parent, or someone else to share the cost.

Oh, I believe taxis are $45, Atlanta Superior Shuttle is $30, MARTA + taxi from Lindbergh Station is $10-15.

If they just take the bus from Lindbergh the trip will be a mere 2 dollars (or however much MARTA’s fee is) because I think you get transfer from train to bus (at least that’s how it was when I used it). It may take longer, but it saves over 10-15 dollars. Given that it is merely orientation (occurring throughout the whole day), taking an hour or 1.5 won’t mean much depending on what time you plan to arrive in Atlanta.

I also think Emory does shuttles to the airport from campus for thanksgiving. Not sure if they still do that.

marta is your best bet. it doesn’t even take that much longer than taking a cab all the way from the airport.
