^^Alright, I feel better that I’m not alone. On CC especially, I always seemed to be the only person who dislikes those ugly backpacks.

I haven’t used one since middle school. I have a huge stash of oversized purses that I switch out depending on my outfit.

Haha, I know that sound so over the top and silly but it’s how I do it. Clothes and purses are srsbsns with me.

^ Yeah…not only are backpacks ugly, I think they’re uncomfortable! I like having something on one shoulder only…2 feels weird.

I don’t like carrying a purse. I leave it all over the place and it just feels bulky. I bought a Vera wristlet (well technically it was a gift) and a backpack that I consider fashionable.

I once weighed my backpack and it was nearly 30 pounds. Try putting just that on one shoulder! You’d destroy your hips.

A lot of people at my school use backpacks.

^^True for me too. Carrying a bag on both sholders feels awkward and uncomfortable.

Johnson - What the hell do you keep in your backpack??? I doubt my bag ever weighs more than 10-12 pounds…and that would be if I had my laptop, notebooks AND a textbook like my sociology textbook. And there’s another reason to NOT use backpacks. Tote bags and purses carry less stuff compared to most backpacks, so you won’t be putting so much strain on yourself.

That day I had my laptop, 3 textbooks (yay engineering! our textbooks are unusually heavy), and 4 notebooks.
Plus the general other things you need daily (ie an unbrella, and I had something like 4 calculators (my 83, 89, 30x, and a tiny one)).

That was a RARE day. I almost never bring textbooks or a laptop on campus. I just happened to need all of that for studying in the library (I had 4 exams the next week… each at least 25% of my grade).

(I checked amazon, and this makes sense since it says one of my textbooks was 4.7 lbs).

So yeah, if I’ve got a backpack and my vera, there’s absolutely no purpose in carrying a purse.
