Girls Who Code 2020

Hmm, could you explain the situation a little more? Do you need to know python prior to the start of the online course? And how much do you already know?
In GWC SIP we spent two weeks doing Python, the first was coding with more math involved , and the second week was combining it with other programs, so I think you’d get a pretty basic understanding of Python, but more info could help.

Nope, the online course is an introductory Python course. I have minimal knowledge when it comes to Python, but through GWC is there enough content covered regarding Python for let’s say I want to create an application using it.

@aannaa @imclassof2022 I also got into the Charlotte location for GWC. Let’s connect.

Congrats!

I really hope COVID-19 doesn’t affect the GWC program and that we can all still go. Rn, all NC schools have been closed so I don’t know what to expect.

Hopefully girls who code will still happen

@Yotamzuko I really hope so!

I hope this program will happen! Does anyone know when the regular decision results come out?

I’m not sure yet, but I hope soon! If I remember correctly, they said early April, so hopefully soon.

Based off the most recent email, they are exploring having a virtual program if necessary. So no matter what, SIP will exist one way or another.

Yeah, but I don’t know how exactly they will make it work online!

Has anybody heard back yet? In previous years, applicants received their results on April 6th-7th

I just got my acceptance email for LA, anyone else?

got waitlisted :frowning:

I got accepted for one of the locations in Atlanta! Super excited!

ahhh i got accepted to the Hartford one!! anyone else?

Congratulations to everyone who got accepted, I attended this program last year, feel free to ask questions. Don’t stress for those of you on the waitlist, I was also on the waitlist last year and didn’t get off until around May. I absolutely loved this program!

@blackpanther888 what types of field trips did you go on?

@Yotamzuko We went to some local technology companies, it’s different for every program, but we went to Google, Tableau, and lab key.

@blackpanther888 How was the lunch?
