-3.8 GPA under a 5.0 scale
-21 ACT Score, I took it twice, the other one was a 20
-Involved in Sports and Activities like Football and Peer Counseling
-Have made an improvement with Class Difficulties over the years, Started from very weak classes to very strong honor/A.P classes.

How do my chances look? I just want to know since that useless guy that thinks he's credible and is answering questions says I have no chance.

Your stats are well under the middle 50%. 21 ACT, equivalent of a 2.8 GPA, what do you want me to say?

“Oh no! You have a GREAT chance! Don’t worry about the fact that your GPA is about .8 under the middle 50%. Don’t worry that your ACT is a few points below the middle 50%. I’m sure you’ll get in based on your winning personality!! ;)”

Seriously. You ask for chances and then you’re mad because it’s not what you want to hear? Then why ask?

Middle 50%:

Fall 2009 Freshman Profile
Entering class: 7,209
High school GPA: 3.41-3.85*
Composite ACT: 23-27*
Composite SAT (Critical Reading and Math): 1030-1250*

(Stats have probably gone up slightly for Fall 2010 and they will probably go up slightly for Fall 2011).

ETA:
Percentage wise, based purely on stats, I’d say you have less than a 25% chance, since your GPA and ACT both fall into the lower 25% of people admitted.

Just based purely on percentages, it doesn’t look too good. I’m not saying you for sure won’t get in but, as others have pointed out, you are under the mean range. However, if you apply early and submit really great senior year first semester grades (which they’ll most likely ask you for), you never know what could happen.

I have to agree with everybody else- percentage-wise, >25%. I would apply ASAP too, otherwise you’ll have no chance. If you have your heart set on MSU and you don’t get in, go somewhere else for a year or two, get your gpa up, then transfer to MSU. As romani said, if you don’t like what we’re telling you, why ask??? Your attitude certainly isn’t going to help you… I think all of us who have successfully gotten through the admissions process probably know more about this than you do.
