Give me some advice!! Should I apply as a beginner student or a transfer student?

<p>I’m an international student.
I’m applying for Purdue University online.
I’ve attended university in my home country for only a short time and I left my university. It was so short time that I got only 18 credits (I don’t even know whether these credits will transfer.)
Should I apply as a transfer, if I’ve attended university no matter how short it was?
I’ve already asked Purdue about it by email. However, I haven’t received any response yet.
If you have any idea about my problem, please give me advice.

<p>It looks extremely vague, as you don’t know if you have the right number of credit hours until Admissions evaluates them. I think you need to either wait for their email answer or call them.</p>

Yes. It’s so vague that I have no idea whether I can be considered as a transfer student.
I’ll try to either wait for their mail or call them.
But, I have one more question in case I don’t get any response from them.
If I apply as a transfer student and it turns out I don’t have the minimum number of 12 credits, will they change my status from a transfer student to a beginner student?
I mean… Can I still be considered as an applicant and is there a chance to get accepted?
Please give me some advice. Thanks!</p>

<p>I don’t know if Purdue uses the Common App or their own application, but the problem is that usually essays and other application requirements are different between fr and transfers. For instance, transfers need letters of rec from profs/TAs, while fr applicants need them from HS teachers.</p>

Purdue has their own application.
You’re absolutely right. I though the same thing but they require the same things for an international freshman student and an international transfer student. (They don’t require any letter of recommendation for both.)
I created application forms for both statuses to see what they were like.
Both forms look like the same, except that I had to select my status at first when I created a new application.
I hope the university will answer my question.
