So USC actually has a lot of sentimental value as one of the schools that motivated me to go to college and my top choice. My brother got accepted and I had visited the campus with him. I began improving from a 3.0 gpa in freshman year. By the end of junior year first semester I was up to around a 3.7 cumulative, but there were some personal issues around second semester and my gpa has dropped to around a 3.3. I have a 2200 SAT I, an 800 in chemistry and an 800 in Math II. Typical high school extracurriculars, badminton captain and student council vp for 4 years. Would scheduling an interview better help my chances? Or should I really give up applying at all.

Schedule an interview. Your SATs are good so you still have a chance. Don’t give up.

If you explain the issues in an interview, I think you have a pretty good shot!
