Giving students or teachers cash for doing good AP scores?

Anyone ever heard of this? I heard that many teachers receive a bonus dependent on the scores of their students. Also, there are some schools that pay students up to 100 dollars per passed AP exam.
Thoughts?

Yes, the teachers at my school get $50 for every person that passes their respective AP tests.

I think it’s actually different in many schools. I’ve heard of some schools where kids get sponsored, paid, and encouraged to take the AP Tests… in mine, you actually have to pay $100 just to take it. :c

Until this year, at my school, students got $100 for each AP exam we passed and we also didn’t have to pay anything to take the exams. This is because we had a grant from the ExxonMobil Stem Grant program (or whatever it’s called). Our school board matched it for the humanities tests. Last year was the last year of the grant though, so now nothing. School board will refund out test fee if we pass the exam, however.

This is the last year my school district is doing this. We receive $100 for a score of 3 or higher on any Math/Science/English AP test. Last year I made $100 from the AP Lang/Comp test. This year I can make up to $300 from AP Lit/Comp, AP Bio, and AP Statistics.

Technically my school was no longer in the program after last year, but the school district will be paying for us if we score a 3 or higher so we end the program with the other schools in the district. For the other schools the NMSI will be paying for their scores for this one last year.

wow that’s crazy I had no idea schools did this!
