I know in private school they just bill your account, but in public school do kids just come with the $86 for every test?

some schools pay part of the $86, but basically, yeah.

Like at my school we have to give the counselor’s office $50 when we sign up for each test.

At my school, the school pays for tests in which you are in a corresponding AP class, but self studies you have to pay for yourself, but I don’t know if it is the same for every school.

I have payed $860 for AP tests so far. And I’ve taken them at two different schools- both of which are big on their tests (AP or IB) They don’t pay a single penny unless you get reduced/free lunch.

My school district pays for all of them.

Some states, like Florida for me, pay for all ap tests if you take the course.

My school pays for all of them.

Noper, at our HS unless you’re income qualified, you pay the whole enchilada. This last year, they set up a system so you can both sign up for the tests and pay online via major credit card. Still, 4x$86=$344 ouch!

We’re in Canada and pay 120 per test.

At my school we pay for them. I believe I paid around $500 for APs this year.

I pay $13 because I get lunch tickets.

My school pays for them for us.

I guess it’s Florida?

My grand total for AP tests when I graduate will be $1500. Lame. Oh well, college credit.

I live in Texas, and in my school, it’s a reduced fee of about ~$58ish for each test. Expensive, but well-worth it. ;-)

I have had to pay for all of mine.

I go to a public HS in Ohio, and we pay by check for all AP tests at registration in the fall ($86 per test).

My school pays for all tests for classes taken through the school. Any additional self-studied AP’s are the student’s financial responsibility.

yea you just bring $86 / test. so like $516 if you’re taking 6 tests lol…however, most districts do provide financial aid for AP tests (for instance in my district if you’re below the federal poverty level you pay $13 / test up front n get a rebate of $8 after you take the test). and i’ve heard some states like tenessee or something even just pay for all students to take the test (lucky bastards!)

S’s school has been paying for all AP tests for students, whether a kid takes an AP class at the school, self-studied, or taken the class elsewhere. Last year, S self-studied for one AP; school paid. This year, he took one AP course in school and one AP course through distance learning, and the school paid for both tests.

His school also paid for his PSAT this year, his sophomore year, and I’m pretty sure the school pays for PSATs for juniors, too. The school does not pay for PSATs for freshmen; I had to pay the $9 (IIRC) that cost by check.

Don’t know whether they will keep this up, however, given the issues with the school budget here.

My school district pays for them, although they were considering not paying the whole price this year as part of a new budget for this economy.
