Has anybody heard back about this program?

In the acceptance letter I got in the mail, it told me that I had been selected for the Global Scholars Program.

On Saturday I received my AU acceptance package, which indicated that I had been accepted into Global Scholars and the Honors program.

I received notification in my acceptance letter that I was chosen as a Global Scholar, in addition to the honors program.

hey guys, congrats!
did your email tell you about the global scholars program and honors program? or did the email just say “congrats” and then the snail mail letter let you know about those two programs?

thanks, and congrats again!

email only said i got in, snail mail said honors college and global scholars program!

I got mine in the mail with my acceptance to AU

any of you planning on doing the global scholars program?

My acceptance letter also said I had been selected for the program, but since then I haven’t heard anything else about it. I’m definitely interested, but I haven’t gotten as much financial aid from American as from other schools, so I’m not sure I’ll do it.

Does anyone know anything more about it? Are there really only 25 participants per class?

yeah I feel like I don’t know enough about it either…

@wesleystuben - It seems as though they projected a low yield rate for the Global Scholars program (which is logical, since the best GS students would presumably have tempting offers from other schools as well) and so they sent out quite a few more than 25 acceptances.

From what I understand, the Global Scholars are fast tracked for masters degrees and competitive grants like Fulbright. Global Scholars students will all live in Hughes Hall together for the first year (other honors students live in Hughes as well) and study abroad/at AU during the summer. Join the facebook Global Scholars program to meet other Global Scholars students and learn more!!!

I was accepted to the Global Scholars program as well. It looks awesome, except I would have hoped for a bit more in scholarships if I was to attend. I’ll have to see what happens after April 1.

Is there any way I can find out if I got into Global Scholars other than normal mail? I got quite a few letters for AU but I couldn’t read them before my mom accidentally threw them away…

I live far from DC, and my Honors acceptance letter came separately from my acceptance package, so I have NO idea if I got into this! AACK!

Remember that Global Scholars Program students finish in three years, so take that into account in looking at financial aid. (My d. is graduating in May after three years, and to us, it is like an additional $40k in financial aid.)

I also got into Global Scholars and Honors Program, but am not sure whether I want to attend.

For those people sure about choosing global scholars program, why are you picking it over other schools?

Did anyone else get the email about studying in Italy over the summer?

I got an e-mail on Friday

Do you think you’re gonna go?

No I’m not but it looks like a nice program

Can someone let me in the Facebook group?
