I've seen and heard a lot about scam organizations, or even non-prestigious ones. However, I've never heard about the GYLC, which I just got in the mail. Is this for real? Worth it? Prestigious? It even had names of other students from my high school who were nominated...

It's not an outright scam (as you actually do get what they say you get), but they probably make a profit. Also, with some of the people I know who got that letter, trust me, they're not taking the best and brightest. They take the most gullible.

I know someone who went last year...He nominated some of us...he said it was expensive, but he said it was still good...It's authentic, but I think it's just a way to make money off people...

Use the search feature, and you will find lots of info on this subject. That's what I did when my D received her (beautiful) invitation. It sounds like it is not an honor, but it is a good program, especially for children who have political leanings.
