Hey everyone,

I know this is last minute, but I just realized today that tomorrow is the deadline for the GYLC... I am kind of sad that I can't go on the international trip since my passport is expired and I can't get it set in time, May 1. Therefore i was wondering if people thought that the Washington DC and New York City trip was worth it? It's just that I have been to both cities more than 10 times, and half of the syllabus of the program is visiting and exploring the cities. If anyone did it or heard of it, could I please have your imputs? Also is this program a scam and really worth it? If it is, is there any other programs similar that you would recommend? I wanted to do the wharton summer program, but I didn't apply and it's too late...

Thanks for any input!

Any would be helpful!

You are correct, half of the trip is sightseeing, etc -- which is great for those kids who haven't really visited the city, but it doesn't sound like a good option for you. Unless your parents really have the money to burn, I think you would be better off skipping those trips. Although they are fun and somewhat educational, there are many better things to spend your money on.

Did you contact the administration at GYLC and ask about the passport? I know that you can put a rush on your passport and get it back in 2 weeks -- maybe that could be an option? It is at least worth asking.

I agree with hsmomstef...if you've already been to those cities a few times, you won't enjoy it because it's a lot of sightseeing.

I was invited to GYLS, but I can't go because it's smack dab in the middle of my graduation. :(

Good luck with figuring things out!
