Everyone always told me that senior year was supposed to be fairly relaxed and laid back compared to junior year. Sadly, that does not appear to be the case for me. Every week as I approach the end of the semester (must get straight A's (or B's depending on how this week goes) for colleges to see on the semester report) seems like the workload is increasing by 10x-having started at a very ambitious level. AP Calculus is getting 3D, english is getting to the point of a 2 page paper every night, projects/papers everywhere! Ahhhhh.

Sorry, I had to vent. In a weird way I enjoyed it...Is anyone else feeling a bit irked with school right now?

I am hating school but enjoying life, if that makes sense. School/class is the only bad part. I am sure I'll get straight A's by semester...except for maybe AP Gov, I hate that class. amdandrew, I completely know what you're saying as far as it not being laid-back & it's frustrating. My year thus far has been pretty swamped, but that's me.

Well, AP Govt. is one of my favorite subjects, so no stress there. As far as being laid back, I'm not sure I'd consider it to be the most calm year of high school. But, I think maybe because I started hitting it hard my freshman year and stuck with it, that it hasn't been that bad. I'm probably considered a geek because I study ALL the time when I'm not involved in sports and other outside activities. I guess the most stressful time for me, aside from waiting to hear from USNA and Harvard ;), was trying to balance all my school activities with work. After indoor track, I go to work every night waitressing and teach karate and swim with a swim club on the weekends. It doesn't give me much of a social life, aside from my involvement with the school and club members. I did get lucky in being exempt from all of my exams this week, and that has been wonderful!!! I'm finally able to do things outside of school activities and also concentrate on my running.

amdandrew and bria*, I think it's natural for you to be feeling all this anxiety. You're only human! My advice is to make sure you do something for YOU throughout each week, whether it's running, playing pool, shooting hoops, etc. Don't let up with your studies, but make sure you try to enjoy yourself a little too. We'll never have our senior year back again, so have fun!

Hey Navgirl, I like the subject of AP Govt. too, just not the fact that I have no choice but to take it online. Other online courses I've taken haven't required the intense amount of self-motivation/time to get an A though. Ahhh...2+ hours of Gov final tomorrow! And I never forget to try to take enough time out for friends & downtime activities! ...definitely important.
