Senior Year

I am so unmotivated... College doesn't appeal to me much anymore, so I feel satisfied going to a safety school (What's so great about ivy education anyways?). School starts at 7:00 and by 11:10 I'm out. The other day I missed a whole day of school and I wasn't behind at all (This is with 3 Ap's and 1 CC class).

What keeps you guys working so hard? Anyone share the same sentiments?

I’m a sophomore, but really my motivation is to increase my class rank.

i lost motivation junior year. i remember that my lab partner was a senior at the time. she was taking mostly AP/advanced classes, would miss a week or two at a time, and still graduated with straight A’s.

i wouldn’t follow her example though. i’ve found a middle ground where i BS enough to get by. one more year and i’m out.

Aye, I feel you. I have to keep reminding myself that I technically haven’t been accepted to my top choice yet. It’s a double-edged sword in that it commits me to keeping my grades up, but it leaves me feeling anxious. I’ll definitely feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders if and when I get in.

Additionally, I have a 4.0 uw and my school doesn’t rank, so I’m technically in the running to be valedictorian. The drive to be number one (I mean, I’ve worked three years, why give up now?) will probably be the one thing that keeps me focused to the end.

The good news is that I think I’m done with the ACT, my last year of XC is going well, my classes are somewhat interesting, and I will hopefully get a job my springtime.

Good luck to any other seniors who are feeling disillusioned!

Oh man, my desire to not do anything made me drop AP Biology like a week into school hahaha. Five period days, for the win! But, I do have AP Stats (took calc last year :p), AP Lit, and AP Gov/Honors Econ, along with my coteaching and Photo - Plus I have above a hundred in every class haha.

I’m totally done with high school already!
