I’m sure i’m going to apply to a school of engineering. However, because of my interest in psychology, I also want to take the AP Psychology Exam and a commmunity college psychology course this upcomming highschool senior year. Will the AP score be taken as credit? Or will it be a waste of money to take the exam? (since i’ll have finished college applications already)
btw…I really have no idea how college course credits work.

Colleges may give you credit for one of their courses if you score high enough on an AP exam. What score you need and what courses they will give you credit for varies from college to college. Typically, you would get credit for the Psychology 101 course at a college if you score a 4 or 5 on the AP exam.

There are three reasons to take AP exams at the end of senior year. 1) to get credit for a course at the college you are going to 2) in case you transfer to a different college later and have to resubmit everything over again 3) you want to see how you would do.

the answer is yes and no. It all depends on what schools you're considering. Go to the web sites of your target schools and they will say somewhere on the admission page what they give credit for.
