I've been dealing with some personal issues and would like to go to counseling sessions at my school's counseling center, as I can't afford outside therapy. However, I am worried that if I attend the sessions and people see me entering the counseling center, I will be shunned. Should I seek counseling or fight it out on my own?

Seek counseling. You probably won’t be shunned. The people who would “shun” you are probably cockroaches you wouldn’t want to associate with anyway.

Also, is this counseling center like a stand alone building? Maybe you’re going in to go to another office or classroom or something.

And also, maybe you work there, or are volunteering there, or whatever.

I don’t think anyone would no what you’re doing there to begin with, though I agree with DCHurricane on the cockroaches part.

No one will care. Colleges offer counseling because there’s a need for it. It’s nice to be able to bounce things off of a neutral person. Give it a try.
