<p>Hey so a couple of friends & I are going to NY (apush summer assignment: research on historical place 1900+), we're going to go visit ellis island, statue of liberty (maybe), the world trade center, & the museum of natural history. What else can we do there that's pretty interesting? </p>

<p>When you eat don’t eat McDonalds or Subway or some chain, eat at a place there. There are so many great places to eat.

<p>I cannot judge, because the only time I had pizza in NY was in the 8th grade trip. . .</p>

<p>Even if you don’t care a bit about art, this is a great museum, with greek sculptures, and the greatest paintings in the world, and the egyptian stuff.</p>

In my opinion yes, but it depends. If you like Chicago style NY pizza will be very different but if you are used to regular pizza it is awesome. Not every place in NY has awesome pizza, but a lot of places do.
Brothers (for sicilan) and Denino’s (regular) are my favorites on Staten Island
Lombardi’s and Patsy’s are my favorites in Manhattan.</p>
<p>Don’t go to a chain resterant, NY has too many resterants in fact NY has the most in the world. Some people stated some great places. </p>
<p>QUEENS
Flusing Meadows and see the Unisphere</p>
<p>Go to Astoria Park and see a breath taking view of the river and the bridges, at night there will be fireflies.</p>
<p>Go to Queens Center Mall and do a little shopping if you want its one of the biggest in the country.</p>
<p>BROOKLYN
Go to Juniors and have the most famous and best cheesecake in the world. </p>
<p>Go to the Botanical Garden, its really beautiful. </p>
<p>Go and have a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhatten.</p>
<p>THE BORNX (Warning!)
NYC as a whole is very safe, one of the safest in the country. But the Bronx isn’t too safe if you walk into the wrong neighborhood you can get robbed or killed. Be safe, I can’t stress that enough. Because tourists are easy targets there. </p>
<p>Go to Shee Stadium and enjoy a good game</p>
<p>Go to the Bronx Zoo one of the largest zoo’s you’ll have fun </p>
<p>Manhatten
(Don’t go to Harlem it isn’t safe right now. That’s if your going near Columbia University)</p>
<p>Empire State Building and go to the top for a view of the whole city </p>
<p>Go to Times Square at NIGHT its alive all day it “never sleeps”. </p>
<p>If you have the money, go on over to 5th ave and Madison and shop. Its mostly high end desginer labels, go to Saks 5th (ignore the snobby rich people there) </p>

<p>Don’t go to Starbucks if you dislike hipsters. </p>
<p>Go to Ground Zero </p>
<p>Go to the Village, Chelsea (experience the art scene there), and the some other artsy places. </p>
<p>Go to Wall St the area will remind you of a European city in the way its built.</p>
<p>If you go to queens center mall. I’ll probably be there XD.</p>

<p>Honestly, yes, go see a Broadway show. Student rush and TKTS are so worth it.</p>

<p>MoMA or The Guggenheim. My son had a tour of NYU last week. Fridays at MoMA are free.</p>
<p>I would say just walking around NYC will entertain you. Terry is literally something to do everywhere. Your list of activities seems pretty extensive for one day. Also if you do go to the Bronx zoo do not go on a Wednesday. Wednesday is free for everyone so it’s packed and not fun; it’s hard to see many of the animals because of how crowded it is. If you go any other day it is awesome. Plus ny pizza is amazing. Just make sure that when you eat you do not eat at a chain, try something new. And the Bronx is not that bad. People aren’t mugging and shooting people constantly. I would just be aware of my surroundings which you should always be doing. Here’s some tips or the city: don’t eat at a hot dog cart they are nicknamed dirt dogs because of how dirty they are and just be smart.</p>
<p>It depends on who you are whether or not the Bronx is bad. Going to the Bronx at night is a bad idea. During the day at the zoo you’ll be fine just don’t travel alone and look like a tourist. Tourists are big easy targets. Also if you plan on using the subway stay to the middle of the train. That’s where you are safest because there are people in booths watching there. The back is the most dangerous.</p>
<p>Dirty water dogs are nasty but taste reeeeaaaaallly good. I’ve eaten a bunch and I’ve never been sick or anything.</p>
<p>Frequently, you can get Broadway tickets up to 50% off the day of. Only buy them from the legit box office, though. Google it for details. (Sorry, lame answer…)</p>
<p>Also! If you happen to be a Gaga fan, you’ll appreciate visiting her old apartment. However, the area is really sketch.

<p>Not true, Horsey7959. The TKTS booth in Times Square has steeply discounted tickets that are perfectly legitimate. However, if you want to student rush the show (often shows lottery off 20 or so seats to students for $20-30, generally), then yes, you would go through the box office of that specific show.</p>
<p>^Excuse my poorly worded advice. Yes, the Time Square booth is legit. I meant to say that buying tickets from a random guy walking around Times Square is not a good idea.</p>
