"Princeton, N.J. - Princeton University was recently ranked as one of the best colleges for men's and women's golf in the 2005-06 Golf Digest College Golf Guide. The rankings, which will be in the September issue of the magazine, feature two "Best Colleges for Golf" rankings: an overall measure and an academic-first measure. Princeton ranked first in the women's academic rankings and second in the men's academic rankings. Additionally, Princeton ranked 21st in the women's overall rankings."

I guess, with the decline of lacrosse, and the contrinued frustration in ice hockey, Princeton has to find another sport where it can go after white athletes who don't need athletic scholarships!

Why do you say white wrt golf? Think about it.

Stanford got the good black golfer. He never graduated, however.

"The" good black golfer? Wow, Byerly. Just...wow.

You don't think he was good? I do. 2 yrs at Stanford.

He is good. But he's not the only good black golfer that there is out there, hence the reason why I question your use of the deifnite article. Your statement was borderline offensive, but I recognize your intent (as always), so...yeah, whatever.

A classic quote from an earlier post of yours:

"Can we please just have a post about Princeton's merits and not Harvard's? Harvard is not the end-all-be-all. Those are fine points about Harvard, but they should be on the Harvard board, not the Princeton one..."

Are you really a Harvard interviewer? :(

(Comment from the gallery: I'd always had some trouble seeing why the word "troll" has been bandied about, but with the recent threads, I'm beginning to see why.)

"Oh, stuff it."
Classic Byerly attitude when confronted.

Don't be silly. The point is that golf is a white sport in college. As are ice hockey and lacrosse. If you disagree, I'd like to see the basis for your opinion.

The super-sensitive earlier poster huffed that this claim was "borderline offensive": - to which I responded "Oh, stuff it."

If Harvard was ranked the best school for golf, I bet that certain people would have touted that result quite a bit

There is no such thing as a "white sport," byerly. Now, if you mean to say that there are sports in which the players are predominantly caucasian, fine. Perhaps I misread your tone, but it came across rather negatively in the way you addressed Tiger Woods. Nevertheless, telling me to "stuff it" is hardly the kind of response suited to a forum filled with posters who can come up with much more intelligent ways to respond to an accusation. I'm not super-sensitive, I was pointing out how your post came across...to me, anyways. And why you brought up that early statement of mine is beyond me. I stand by it, if that's what you're wondering.

Oh, stuff it.

Harvard is #1 nationally in both rowing and sailing... both "white sports"

Philntex,

Your ebullient lack of stuffing it is one of your charms. If you need to take a breather from the fight, we will get you a fake ID and you can come over to Sinner's Alley in the Parent's Cafe....

We eat a lot of cake and just talk about drinking...

Alu

princeton is hardly losing its lacrosse touch. the girls still win like every year and the men last won in 2003

"Harvard is #1 nationally in both rowing and sailing... both "white sports""

What are you thoughts of Cornell in general? :D

Do you like the school as much as Harvard?

Philntex, don't even think about being apologetic.

Hahaha, awesome, alumother! I always wondered what parents did in the Parents Cafe since I considered it sacred ground and thus never entered. Thanks to aparent5, too! I'm a-gonna miss CC :(

Anyways, PRINCETON LAX RULES! There's a reason it had a rather hefty section in the frosh edition of the Prince :p
