"Good academic standing" for UCs

I am a community college student with a 3.7 GPA, probably 3.8 counting classes I've recently taken at the community college I am now but I have a 4 year gap in my record.

Despite my good grades, I decided to take just one class this semester and I already applied to UCSD, UCB, UCI, and UCD.

The class is 5 units, and it's a programming class. I am not doing well in it, I might get a D and by the time the W date passed it was too late to recognize this since I only had one test and project due at the same date. It is very different from any class I've taken before and I have a hard time communicating what I need clarified to the professor.

I heard that if you turn in your final transcript to a UC, they can still withdraw their admission if you aren't in "good academic standing". This worries me a lot.

My major isn't even programming, I am just taking an intro to programming class because it's part of UCSD's Psychology BA requirements, but I've taken other classes before in that category and have gotten A's.

I also am concerned if getting a W instead of risking a D will not be in good academic standing either. Even a C may not look good?
