Good ACT Score, OK Writing score - retake?

I got a 34 on the ACT, which is a good score and I’m totally fine with it. My GPA and class rank are both high, so a 34 is a good score. But for my essay, I got an 8 (on a scale from 2-12). My score is okay, but it’s not the best. Do you think colleges that look at the ACT plus writing will be bothered by my writing score? I’m not going to be an English/writing major, and I’ve heard that colleges don’t took too hard at the writing section for non-English/lit majors than English/lit majors. Still, I’m wondering if it’s low enough for me to want to take it again, though I really don’t want to, since I know that for me that my senior year will be very busy and I felt like I had done my best.

Your score is stellar and if you aren’t choosing to major in English or a related field, I really don’t think they’ll mind. However, it might depend on the competitiveness of the schools you are applying to.

You’re done. Congrats!
