Good community colleges in Florida?

<p>I know a young man who is graduating in June. He is a great kid but his academic profile is not quite good enough to get him into a university. He has a 2.4 GPA with a 1400 (out of 2400) SAT score. Ultimately, his dream is to transfer to the University of Florida to study Wildlife Management, but for now, he is looking into enrolling in a community college in Florida. I heard Miami Dade College is good. How good is it and are there other good ones, perhaps in or near Gainesville?</p>

<p>Santa Fe community college is in Gainesville. They send about 1000 students per year to UF.</p>

<p>Yeah, Santa Fe does well for UF. </p>

<p>Valencia is well respected (for a CC) on the state and also does well in sending kids to UF. Its in Orlando, however.</p>
