I'm feeling a bit stressed right now over many things. The biggest of them all is deciding on schools to transfer to in the fall.

So far I have decided on applying to USC, Loyola Marymount, Azusa Pacific, Chapman, & Pepperdine, but I have this doubt that I won't be accepted due to my lackluster GPA (I have a 3.03 I believe) and I don't know...the thought of it is really bringing down my confidence in getting accepted. I mean, I really REALLY want to get into USC but after reading some other stats and stuff about how the average gpa is like a 3.75 or something, 3/4 of my mind is telling me I won't get accepted while the other 1/4 tells me I have a very slim chance on being accepted. :(

So I wanted to know if there were any other schools I could also apply to as backups.
(or some confidence boosters...)

I'm currently a sophomore at College of the Canyons with the intent of majoring in Computer Science. I've completed 39 units so far & I'm taking 3 units now for the winter session & I hopefully will be taking 18 units in the spring.

The reason I didn’t include UCs & CSUs is because my parents want me done in 4 years & their worry is that I’ll end up like my neighbor who had to drop out of CSUN because he couldn’t get the classes he needed. I, myself have no problem with going to UCs & CSUs.

Impacted classes are generally lower division and/or GE classes. Once you transfer and/or enter junior/senior standing, you shouldn’t have trouble getting classes needed to graduate.

Frankly, the panic over students not getting into classes is overblown… it is mostly because students fail to plan, fail to take prerequisites, and fail to register until after the semester begins.

I am a current CSUN Comp Sci student and while calling the university “good” in any capacity is reaching, I can affirm that there are no serious enrollment issues that would cause students to drop out. In UCs, the problem is even more negligible.
