I am 99% sure that I want to pursue a degree in graphic design. But as a person with an anxiety disorder, the inability to change to a non-art major if I change my mind is keeping me from going to an art school. I know it is a bit late for applying but I also know that some schools are still open for applying. So far I have applied to George Mason, High Point, Lynchburg, Yale, Tulane, Champlain, University of Richmond, and Pratt and SVA, which I know are art schools but I wanted to see if I could get in. Yale and I’m pretty sure University of Richmond both only have studio art, so I’m probably crossing them off my list. The other schools are nice, but I’m afraid that I missed out on where I’m supposed to be. I know that I don’t like large schools (like University of Delaware) but I also don’t like really small schools (like Arcadia). So if anyone could recommend a school that’s still accepting applications, I’d greatly appreciate the help.
RIT
also VCUarts #1 rated public in the country ,#4 overall. In graphic arts its graduate program rated #5 in the entire country. Much higher regard for arts than Richmond and its in Richmond! Its basically a separate school at VCU.
Tough to get in .
RIT and VCU are good recommendations.
Not sure what the curriculum is at Champlain but it’s a really pretty campus and Burlington is a great town.
I agree with other posters that RIT & VCU are good recommendations. My son is studying graphic design @ Tyler in Philadelphia but I think it may be too late to get in for the fall semester. There’s also the option to pick a school close to you for the fall and then try and transfer into an art program for spring semester next year.
