So I'm currently at Penn State and I really would love to transfer out of here. I love the school but I want to study film and the program here is horrible. I am currently a freshman and I have good not great H.S. stats, 1860 SAT and 3.4 GPA. But my college stats are terrible, 2.6-2.7ish GPA depending on how my finals go. I really want to transfer to either Chapman University or a California State school. Do I have a shot in hell? or is there anyone out there with any recommendations on how what to do?

Any chance of staying at Penn State a little longer to get your GPA up? A higher GPA next semester will at least show an upward trend in your grades.

Well I was wondering, would it make more sense for me to stay at Penn State and raise my GPA, or either go to community college back home (in Maryland) or potentially community college in California in order to make me a more desirable candidate? Any input would be really helpful at this point thanks

Why California? It may be in your best interest to move right away to establish residency (you need two years) and go to a CCC. That way you’ll pay in-state tuition, and get priority transfer status.

Well California because ultimately I would like to go to a good film school close to LA in order to network in the industry
