hey, well the things is most guys in engineering tend to not have much time for a social life. and if your planning on being an engineer, I wouldnt worry about finding a good looking guy, cuz chances are you wont have much time for that anyways.

Don't forget GE. GE wins in the overall attractiveness department for both sexes. ChemE wins for the girls and MechE wins for the guys. It's the honest truth. And I do shower most of the times. But some of those days you just get out of bed and so much stuff and the shower seems so far and takes so much time . . . yeah I'm not gonna lie. And I'm still sexier than a good proportion of the competing males. It only sucks when you get to the bars and have to compete against the business majors for the women. You feel pretty good and then realize just how little you get to work-out. That blows.

Look at it this way, when you have 5-8 guys to every girl in engineering, it can't be that hard to find a good-looking one, even if you assume that engineers are several times uglier than the general population.

why would you assume engineers are uglier?

Well, let's face it, the truth is that engineers tend to be geekier and less social than the general population. Nobody needs to sugar coat the truth here. But I'm saying even if you allow for that, you shouldn't have any problems finding a good looking guy as a girl in engineering, due to the sheer male/female ratio.

hey many geeks tend to have a level of sophiscation.

I figured i'd pop my head into this conversation to put an end to it....look sadly us engineering boys may not always have the looks...but ahhh dont be so shallow ladies... we may not have the looks but the engineer dudes have the starting salaries....cmon girls... ask yourself this, who really wins this battle? the good looking guy arts major who will become old and saggy with time...or the monobrowed engineering dude who will always have lots of $$$$

Cmon we all know the answer to that question.

Don't be so shallow, just be a little less shallow and look for the money. :D

i rather have looks than money, since im going to be raking in the goods

Sigh, says who we can't have both? :P I want both and no compromises. Hehe.

If you actually believe that, then you haven't got a very good perspective about being a 18-25 year old...

Hey, like a previous poster said, "The odds are good, but the goods are odd." That's typical of any tech school you go to, especially. There's something called the pi to one ratio...Which can be really great for chicks. Girls who never got looked at in high school could easily end up being extremely popular. I guess 'good looking boys' in engineering just comes down to personal tastes. There's just something that turns me on about a man that knows his stuff. ROFL

So whoever said you cannot be good lookin, smart and a freakaleak at the same time was obviously a nutrition major. Look at us engineers, we know how to use all of our tools and hardware, we know the basic laws of motion and all about friction. We can do it on a flat plane, but go ahead, bring on the damn incline! We want our saturday night flings like we want our calculus midterms-quick and easy. We are the only ones on campus who know how to minimize energy and maximize efficiency all at once. We never underestimate the strength of our materials, and we're always down to turn potential into kinetic. Join up if you wish that physics really could get you laid more often, or if you do get laid really, really ridiculously often and wish people gave you a little more credit.

:)

That's really true. No, really. At least for me. :P

as long as you have a light switch in your dorm room its all good

On a serious note to this thread, Olin College of Engineering certainly has an above average looking crop of male engineering students. Off the top of my head, I know at least 10% of the males are well toned and muscular. Plus, unlike many engineering schools, the males (and the girls) are all incredibly social, outgoing, and athletic. What's not to like? (sadly, you'll have competition as the school is 43% women).

Olin has like 20 undergrads. I want a variety of good looking men. and then be able to dump a few of them.

omg andy that was funny

hey no fair! Olin has 297 undergrads.. of which like 160 are male.. there are plenty in there to dump and play around with!

Yeah, then your "reputation" will get around quickly and guys won't go anywhere near you.

Yeah, no matter how great the guys and girls are, going to a place half the size of my high school is going to be quite suffocating when everyone's in each other's business.
