good looking boys in engineering

A lot of people don't feel like engineers have anything besides breans and nerdy looks, but I beg to differ. though we may try to/be good at calculus and other amthematics and sciences, we can have other interests. I plan on playing club lacrosse and being in a Fraternity at Vanderbilt, so all of you people naggin on the engineers out there, hold up, because we'll be making a lot more money than you.

And if someone wants a pic of me: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/betten22188/detail?.dir=9e5c&.dnm=dd62.jpg&.src=ph

Whilst you may be right that not all engineering students are the stereotypical maths/science geek, I think the fact of the matter is that the majority do indeed fit this mould. Also, just because you are going to be playing intramutal lacrosse doesn't exactly disqualify you from this stereotype. But I admit, you do have a lot of guts posting your photos in a random topic on the internet, and I mean it in a good way. Oh and your date for your prom was hooot, much respect on that. hahah

Yeah, I have to agree with vrumchev.

The fact of the matter is that all stereotypes start with an ounce of truth. The reason why engineers get stereotyped as a bunch of geeks with no social skills is that there really are a lot of engineers who really are geeks with no social skills.

Don't believe it? OK. I think it's safe to say that the best consensus overall engineering school is MIT. Believe me, there really are a lot nerds at MIT. You can come down and see for yourself sometime. Now, is everybody at MIT a nerd? Of course not. But the fact remains that there really are a lot of them around.

So conceding that stereotypes are just that, stereotypes, what are stereotypes about GIRLS in engineering?

[So conceding that stereotypes are just that, stereotypes, what are stereotypes about GIRLS in engineering?]

sry guys just trying something..

stereotypically (from what i hear) girls who go into engineering are even more nerdy than the guys in there.

By the way, mrryprankster, nice picture.

I have been waiting for this thread my whole life. =)

And there's no need to speculate about girls in engineering, there are already lots of threads on that topic. Which is why this one is so long overdue.

I will say, however, that it's interesting to note that in the "good-looking female engineers?" thread, I don't recall a single girl posting a picture to prove you all wrong. The guys, on the other hand, seem more than willing to play defense with the photos. =)

Speaking of- mrryprankster...wakeboarding? So awesome. I've wanted to do that for so long.

It's because we know even if our one case proves the fact that there are hot girls in engineering, generally or for the majority, it may not be the case. Just like with guys.

no girls in engineering are posting pics because we have class and pride. I don't feel like a have to prove anyone anything, esp. on a public message board.

No, it's because guys always win at everything, and the fact that girls are trying to win the "best-looking engineers" award is completely preposterous.

Which is why we're trying to defend the title. :P

The point I was going for was that guys were much more defensive about their looks and much more likely to go out of their way to defend it. The girls have kind of been like "Eh. Think what you want. Your loss." =)

that shouldn't stop the hot engineering girls from PMing nude pictures of themselves to me.

"The point I was going for was that guys were much more defensive about their looks and much more likely to go out of their way to defend it. The girls have kind of been like "Eh. Think what you want. Your loss." =)"

You are assuming that there are good looking female engineering students that visit this or the other thread. How do you know that your assumption is true? Your argument is a bit of a fallacy.

Personally, I find girls react much more violently to the statement "You're not hot." than guys do. There's risk involved posting or PMing your picture to a website forum and that risk involves self esteem. Yeah, I sound like Dr. Phil, but I'm serious.

People won't post their picture unless they really believe they're hot.

For a chick to take the risk and then be trolled about her appearance would be completely devastating when compared to a guy. But then again, this is just my personal experience/opinion. :)
