<p>I'd say it's a good idea. Just don't go overboard.</p>
<p>When my daughter was notified last February that the teachers at her school selected her as Liberal Arts Student of the Year, her counselor prepared a letter, sort of a "press release," that she could send to the colleges she'd applied to. I'd think notifying USC of any major awards like that might help them evaluating you. I just wouldn't pepper them endlessly with lots of new pieces of paperwork.</p>
