Good Pre Med School I could get into in PA

GPA could be 3.30 UW and 3.45 w or 3.33 UW and 3.51 W depending. UPward trend in grades freshman year GPA 3.1 uw and 3.25 W but since upward trend been strong. Key Club 4 years, Varsity Indoor/Outdoor Track 3 yrs. SADD 2 yrs, Hospital Volunteer, and Library Volunteer, Giant Eagle Cashier and more. Got 1560 on SAT I just took and planning on taking it again in the May. Hopefully raise it to 1700 or higher. Based on my current stats, what are some good pre med schools I could get into in Pittsburgh/PA are. I'm considering going to Duquesne for undergrad then maybe transfer to Pitt, but don't know if I could get in Duquesne or not so we will see. U guys think I could get in Duquesne?

Glad that you moved your thread here.

In your other thread, you ask for good premed schools in the Chicago area. I believe that you’re instate for Illinois?

My answer in your other thread:

*All decent schools are fine for a student who is pre-med. If you’re instate for Illinois, then attend any of good IL schools that are affordable for you.

How much will your family pay? That will likely determine where you should apply. If you don’t know how much they’ll pay ask them.*

One of your posts from another thread:

*Struggling Junior Year

Well freshman year of HS my GPA was 3.1 uw and 3.25 w. Sophomore year it was 3.43 uw and 3.57 w. This year as of now on pace for 3.2 uw and 3.35 w which is pathetic. I take all regular classes but…Struggling Junior Year*

With your stats, you’d unlikely get a great FA pkg from Duquesne nor would you get much/anything from UPitt as either a frosh or transfer. What are your parents saying about how much they’ll pay?

Well the only school in PA that even offers a “pre-med” major is Penn State. ;)

Mom2CollegeKids - I am a PA resident actually. My parents are willing to pay any good amount and money is not an issue. Why r u looking at that post from a thread of mine from a long time ago? Now everything is different and my situation is described GPA wise in this thread.

Kdog044 - I mean go to a school aiming to do pre med undergraduate studies.

Ok…you’re a PA resident. Good.

Since you’re a junior and the post that I included is from junior year, your post was not from a “long time ago.”

Since your parents are williing to pay “any good amount”, then your options can be wide.

I think that if you raise your SAT by 100+ pts you can get into Duquesne.

Then go to the school where you can earn the highest GPA as the school is relatively irrelevant.

Kdog044 - What schools u think I could get into in pa with stats? Most preferably in Pittsburgh area.

I’m not familiar with PA but YOU should be. If you haven’t done the research in your own home state then you are not doing your due diligence. I know when my son was a senior he knew where he stood at ALL the state schools.
