I got a 219 (70CR/76M/73W) on my PSAT that I took this october as a sophomore. I didn't study at all for it though... Is this a good score for a sophomore?
Thanks! :)

That’s a very good score, you should be pleased, prob 97percentile

Great score, but national merit depends on where you live e.g. the cut off in texas and mass is like 225 while its maybe 204 in other states … BIG difference. Vie for that next year as its a good title to have!

@Englishman Thank you! @YeezyHov I live in California, so the cut off is 222 I think!

@JimmytheTutor Thank you so much! Is it true that a lot of people’s PSAT scores go down between sophomore and junior year?

No not really. It should generally go up.

my psat score went down 10+ points, with test prep… still got NM, but it can go down depending on how you do that day… its a mix of luck and intelligence

I got the exact same score in my sophomore year, great job! I’d advise you to not get too cocky or conceited because (speaking from experience, sadly) if you do, you end up dropping 10 points and getting Commended instead of SF. I’ve learned the hard way that you can’t expect to maintain high scores without effort. So great job, and most importantly, keep it up.

My freshman and sophomore year scores were similar, but my junior year score went up 30 points to a 216 without really studying so it should go up. I mean its the same test but you’ve learned more so there’s no reason for it to go down
