Good read ahead of this Saturday's game against the Badgers

Here’s a pretty funny WSJ article ahead of the Michigan vs Wisconsin game…written by a Badger no less. The bit about Duke was pretty funny!

Very funny! “Ok, Duke. It’s rational to hate Duke.” :))

And the counterpunt:

Feels great to pull out a Top 10 win. Some missed field goals, but a great interception

We really need to find a solution to our kicking game. Kenny Allen is a solid punter, but he missed two easy FGs yesterday. This game was not as close as it seemed. Michigan outgained Wisconsin 370 yards to 160 yards.

Also, while this is our first win against a top 10 team, Colorado is starting to look like a legitimate contender out West. That win looks a lot better now.

On a separate note, MSU is looking vulnerable. Hopefully, we can capitalize on that and win at EL this year. OSU is looking very intimidating.

A little bit of trivia, I think (maybe someone can confirm this) last week’s win over PSU, coupled with Notre Dame’s loss to Duke, edged Michigan past Notre Dame as the team with the best all-time win/loss record.

^^^Your last sentence is correct. Hope the freshman kicker gets well enough to play next week!

Harbaugh acknowledged that asking a kicker to do punts, kickoffs and FGs in this day and age is unusual. Hopefully, the kicking will improve when the duties are split. Allen has lost all confidence.

Fortunately, the remaining schedule looks quite manageable and Michigan might be heavily favored in every game until the Game.

Rutgers game was one of the biggest beatdowns in College Football history
78 - 0

Last week Ohio State did 58 - 0 against Rutgers.

Keep in mind, Ohio State played them in Columbus.
Our game against Rutgers was away at New Jersey

Michigan’s defense is excellent…dare I say as good as our 1997 defense, and those of us who know our history know what happened back in 1997.

Our Offense is still untested…or, more accurately, still growing. The only truly good defense we played, Wisconsin, made it very difficult on our offense to put points on the board, partly because our kickers are not that good, and partly because our OL is not yet dominant. Thankfully, MSU and Iowa look very average this year, so we should have ample time time grow and prepare for our road game in Columbus.

Michigan is probably going to have another excellent recruiting class too, so we are definitely on the right track. We have 17 solid recruits, and have a good shot at landing several other good ones, including Isaiah Wilson, one of the top 5 OLmen in the country, and Donovan Peoples-Jones, one of the top 5 WRs in the country.
