Good reason to send extra letter of rec?

<p>So, im considering pursuing sending an extra letter of rec to schools (schools that say they accept them but want them to add a lot to who you are)</p>

<p>my counselor doesnt know me very well, so hes not gonna be able to attest my to my extracurricular involvement other than saying stuff thats already on my activities. one of my coaches offered to write a rec letter that would focuses on my ec involvement (which she is really privy to). with regards to my character however, it wouldnt add my insight, but only say im a good leader (since i dont think my teachers would say that since they wouldnt know that). with those two reasons, would that be considered "adding" a lot to who i am (and justify sending an extra letter)?</p>

<p>If you really think it will make a huge difference, send it in. If not, then it will only annoy and burden the adcom reader. So decide before you do, since most people leave it at 2 teachers + 1 counselor.</p>
