Good restaurants in Princeton area

My S is graduating HS at Sovereign Bank Arena. We don't live in Princeton, but are thinking it would be a nice place to take family and guests after commencement for a celebratory dinner (as opposed to a restaurant in Trenton).

Does anyone have any suggestions for a nice, but reasonably priced place to eat? It could be anything accessible from Route 1 or Route 27.

Thanks in advance.

There is Maccaroni Grill on Route 1 near Princeton. Not too shabby, not too expensive, food was okay ( but i was hungry when i ate there). The place is tad bit pricier than Olive Garden, but entre was very similar-a typical family restaurant. There is also Applebee on Route 1, across the Maccaroni, but never tried there.

If you dont mind spending few extra dollars more, you should go eat at restaurants on Nassau St. near Princeton. Food was excellent, service fantastic, spirits soaring- excellent outdoor dinning.

when is your son's graduation, tonight? because the university has class day today and commencement tomorrow, so all the princeton area restaurants will likely be packed and require reservations. in any event, here are some links you may find helpful:

My daughter's favorite - when I am willing to fund it - is Theresa's.

Thanks, everyone.

Alumother, how much is the average entree at Theresa's?

And has anyone eaten at the Underground Cafe? I heard it was good.

i'd say in the $8-20 range. it's italian-american, fairly casual. they have, for example, a variety of individual pizzas with toppings like spinach and feta. note, though, that they don't take reservations, despite being fairly popular, so be prepared to stand in the entrance area a while before being seated. here's the menu:

http://www.terramomo.com/restaurant/teresacaffe/dinner.html

Thanks for the info, scottie. I would need a place that takes reservations, since there will be elderly people attending.

Which Nassau Street places do you recommend, Rabban?

you might consider winberie's, then, in palmer square. it's reasonably priced and very casual. it's part of a six-location chain, and sort of like a chili's in feel but a slight cut above. the menu:

thanks again, scottie. Looks nice!

$200,000 later, and I'm still gonna have to pay for a restaurant.

Oh well. Sucks when you have to pay because you can pay.

I second Winberries.

Also in the Nassau Inn
Yankee Doodle Tap Room

http://www.nassauinn.com/dining.html

Can be pricey, although they have sandwiches on the dinner menu.
