I am living in New York currently plan on applying to many CUNY.
Not too long ago, I heard about the importance of of accreditations.
I currently want to apply for these curriculums : Computer science, computer engineering, and Electrical engineering.
What is the best CUNY that can suit my needs? And what’s the difference between an accreditated curriculum and a none accreiditated curriculum?
So far my first choice is City College because of the great things I heard about it.
And also, is it worth trying to apply for Hunter’s engineering curriculum?
For EE, best to stick with an ABET-accredited program.
For CS, ABET accreditation can signal that it is at least decent quality, but is not really necessary as long as the CS offerings are sufficiently complete and technically based at the school. If you want to take the patent exam later, an ABET accredited CS major is preferred over other CS majors, though students with non-ABET-accredited CS majors can fulfill specific course requirements listed by the patent office to quality.
Obviously, the school overall should have regional accreditation.
Does Hunter even have engineering?
ABET accreditation for engineering for CUNYs:
CUNY City College: biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, environmental, mechanical engineering (and computer science)
CUNY College of Staten Island: electrical engineering (and computer science)
on the CUNY website, theres a choice where I can pick my curriculum for hunter. Engineering is listed there as well as CS.
This is what ABET has for City University of New York, Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy (Formerly Hunter College of the City University of New York):

Hunter College’s own web site lists the following majors:

No engineering, but there is computer science. Hunter’s computer science courses are listed at:
