Google BOLD Internship 2013

I had two back to back phone interviews, and the recruiter emailed me after saying that i should hear back if i got an in-person interview. I got the call on Friday, expecting it was for another interview, but it was the offer instead. i’m not sure how they decide how to interview, but i think i was a rare case. maybe they are really behind in the process.

anyway, the interviewers were really laid back, and asked me questions about my experiences, and also about products that i like and how they can be improved. they also gave me a “mini-case” for how to market a given product. overall, not too challenging, but you have to know your google products well. there were no “brain teaser” questions either.

you can private message me if you have any further questions! i hope i helped; i was also really curious before my interview and it would have been nice to have people provide more detailed info as reference.

good luck!

That’s awesome! Wish I had a referral though. Where did you get one? Are they still available? Is it a BOGO deal? Are they available in multiple colors?

still nothing on my end. AHHHHHHHHH! I just want to know SOMETHING!!!

I just got an email saying that I was selected for the first interview round! The interviews will be with the PQO team. I’m so excited!

Does anyone have any advice on how to prepare for these interviews? Thanks!

Good luck!

yay livingadream! good luck.

still nothing on my end. trying not to get my hopes up or down… sigh

good luck living! by the way, what is the PQO team? i’m not sure what PQO stands for.

PQO = Product Quality Operations. It is a pretty cool team that deals with quality assurance (QA) and fights fraud.

Received the rejection email today. I applied in early November.

Sorry to hear about that, Senior.

I still haven’t head anything either. I guess no news is better than bad news?

Still haven’t gotten rejected yet. One of my friends from my school today recently got rejected.

But currently, I have an offer from American Express that expires March 15th. It’s a really good opportunity and I don’t want to lose it, but obviously I prefer Google. Can I e-mail them and give them this information to find out what’s up?

In their FAQ they say if you have a competing offer you can email them. Go check the google bold FAQ for more info

Would you mind posting a link to that FAQ? Cuz I couldn’t find it.

Also I know this isn’t the right thread for this but, American Express Marketing in Corporate Services, PwC Management Consulting in Advisory, or a Google Internship - which one would ya’ll pick if you had all three offers?

“If you have a competing offer with a deadline before May 1, 2013, please email <a href="mailto:bebold@google.com”>bebold@google.com to notify the BOLD team. While we may be unable to meet your deadline, we’ll do our best to expedite the process if possible."
