I applied to the Google BOLD Internship back in November and was wondering if anyone knows when I can expect to hear back from them. Has anyone been contacted yet?

Also, how many students are accepted to this program and what type of people get in?

I applied before Dec 1 (last deadline) and have not heard back either.

I applied to the Immersion to BOLD program as a freshman, and while I heard from google during the process, never got a reply at all saying yes or no, or anything like that at all. So I’m not really sure how the response process will go for this year/ this program.

I’ve heard, though, that google is focusing heavily on true minorities, as the app says. Wish I knew more - hopefully someone else who knows a bit more can contribute!

After searching through Google BOLD thread from last year, it looks like people start hearing whether they are moving onto interviews around mid-January. However, some people heard from Google as late as March. I applied on the day before all the applications were due, so I’ll probably receive a later decision, but hopefully I make it!

It sounds like from the previous thread that everyone received an e-mail from Google on whether they made it to the next step in the internship process or not. It also sounds like they accept around 200 people into their internship program and majority of them are minorities.

I hope they start sending out decisions soon, because I’m getting antsy! Good luck everyone!!!

Me and a friend applied on the same day around the same time of the application due date and he heard back today-- no offer to go to the next round. He applied for specific divisions though and applied later than I.
I have yet to receive a response so I too am anxiously waiting. Hopefully it doesn’t take two months.
Good luck to everyone!

Well Google can’t accept everyone. I read in past Google BOLD threads that different divisions send their status e-mails at different times. So hearing our decisions probably also depends on what division(s) we applied to.

It’s good to hear that not everyone has heard back yet. I’m still waiting. I applied the night of the deadline, but haven’t received anything besides a confirmation e-mail. The line about finding out more at the “beginning of 2013” is starting to freak me out a bit, since it’s almost the end of january.

I received two confirmation emails. One with the subject “Thanks for applying to Google” and the other was “Google confirmation-BOLD 2013 Supplemental Form”. I have yet to hear back from them!

I applied too. Haven’t heard back yet but I have a friend who applied the same time for same departments and he already heard back(no offer unfortunately :(). Weird…

I think if I don’t hear back from them by mid next week, I might go crazy. I also think having intern applicants wait this long to hear their status is Google’s form of torture.

Hey guys! I’m so happy I found this threat because I was going CRAZY! I know of two people who got an email but it was a rejection email as well…one of them works for google as a campus rep and the other went to the freshman symposium by them. I really hope they let us know soon. Do you guys think it’s a good idea to email them about having other offers? They have a question in their Q&A about that, but I don’t know about that…
