Google BOLD Internship 2019

I wasn’t – it actually took them only like 5 days to get back to me

@iluvdiversity that’s fast. Was it with your initial application or after your supplemental form? And did you have a referral?

I applied end of September with a referral and received the supplemental form a week later in early October. Haven’t heard since. Hopefully something soon?

Sounds like everyone’s on the same boat waiting for interviews. I’m still waiting on the supplemental (I applied 10/19). If you’ve been given a supplemental form it’s most likely you’ll get interviews unlesss the location you’ve chosen and specialty isn’t available and you aren’t flexible about it.

So could you guys let me know what you did to make your resume stand out? What sort of experience, accomplishments, etc did you have prior to applying?

I was a regional manager the past couple of years and just started my own company a few months ago. What they’re really looking for is community involvement in volunteering and local organizational work like fundraising and what not. I did this through my university projects and local hospitals. And GPA of course. It doesn’t necessarily need to be perfect as long as you have experience leverage.

^Not Assistant to the Regional Manager??

There were multiples of us. I was a regional ops manager for a national pizza chain just basically going around and helping GM’s with their stores. I have a bit more experience though because I’m graduating very late. I switched from pre-med so I’ve had time.

Well my resume isn’t as flashy. It just included my internship experience such as being an HR intern for CBS, Mastercard and High Octane. My experience points consisted of statistics, and outside of job scope.

But until we get an interview we don’t really know how our resumes compared to others.

@ReedCM I was making an Office reference but it totally went over your head ?

@HeadInTheClouds wow ? totally did. @NikkiGsu2020 I’d say that’s pretty flashy! My GPA isn’t as high as some of yours I’m sure. Pre-med classes brought it down a bit so I’m hoping my resume will help. I agree that none of us are really for certain until interviews are scheduled though. It just depends on what they want. I may not even get a supplemental!

It’s basically just a waiting game after initial applications until interviews.

Hi all - got my supplemental form a while back and now waiting. How long will this be? Consulting firms are already on second rounds and I’d love to interview ASAP lol

If you look at last year’s discussion board it looks like some didn’t get interviews until Feb. So could be Nov. up until then.

@MMSS2020 how long after your initial app submission did you get the supplemental?

I applied Sept 19th and got my supplemental Oct 1st. I don’t think the supplemental is an indication of moving on. I thought everyone gets it.

do you guys think having a competing offer will speed up this timeline?

@ReedCM idk, like two weeks?

@tomatojuice Doesn’t sound like everyone does. I think getting a supplemental means you passed the first “initial” round of weeding out.

I applied around the first week of October and haven’t received a supplementary form… Should I be worried?
