Hey all,
does anyone have any experience/insights for the Google BOLD summer program? I am interested in applying, but would like to hear the opinion of someone who knows someone who was in the program, or who was in the program themselves. Google has a bunch of stuff on their website, but really, it was put out by google so I can't expect it to be objective. Thanks!

One of my student org’s interns (my minion actually) was a BOLD intern and we’ve had multiple people go on to work for Google, but only one BOLDer. It’s highly selective program so be sure to work hard on your essay and find someone who can refer your application in. Apply early so you can be ahead of the game. You’ll most likely get a phone interview first if you get through the first step of the process and it might be the only interview you get (as in the case of my friend). As with any internship, managers have a big impact, but my dude had a good time and was even able to leave his mark via some t-shirt designs he did for them.

Don’t get hurt if you don’t get BOLD - both my friends who are currently there full time (business/general/marketing side) were not selected for internships. Always keep your options open etc. I’m subscribing to the thread so you can ping back questions, but my last finals seasons starts this week so I can’t guarantee quick responses

Awesome. Was your friend a minority?

When will the application be released? It seems as though they do not have a formal site where they discuss application release.
