Got accepted early as an RD Applicant!

Got my STRIDE in the mail today! In case anyone wanted to track the letters, I’m from WA. Does anyone know what airport we should fly into when we visit during Open Campus?

Hartford is by far the easiest.

STRIDE!
my friend in FL got gets today too

Fingers crossed larentia!

Thanks everyone! Congrats to all of you too.

Hers not gets wow!

Congrats to all of you who got some good news! And best of luck in making your final decisions. You have a lot to be proud of and many good choices at your disposal.

WOW! CONGRATS to all those accepted and particularly those with merit based scholarships! While I can not exactly be objective (our D is a STRIDE) those awards makes a great school like Smith an even more compelling choice.

We did not understand just how important STRIDE was until we got on campus… Please, parents and students, do make sure you visit the “Poster” session for STRIDE scholars at Prospie weekend. You’ll speak to about 15 or so women 1-2 years senior to you who are doing AMAZING research --research that students at other schools fight to be able to do in their Junior/Senior year. (For added incentive to go to the Poster meeting, they also serve great indulgent baked goods!)

We saw one board with Harvard and MIT logos as well as Smith, and when I asked, we found the woman had been presenting her work (along with with Juniors from those two schools) at several symposiums across the country… Yet, she was just a second year!

So when my daughter got the award, at first we were just wowed about the STRIDE’s financial support. But we found its pretty amazing for furthering your academic career as well. My D has been already been asked to do further research in NYC this summer, so the doors appear to keep opening…

As intended, the STRIDE may correctly tip the balance to Smith vs. those slightly inferior schools that just may happen to have somewhat better names or a bit more Ivy. I’m lust sayin’!

Again, congratulations!

WOOHOO!   Got a Zollman today!!!

Congratulations! A great accomplishment. :)

woohoo congrats ermsypermsy!!

It’s Thursday, so I think it’s safe to say that I’m not getting a STRIDE or Zollman. Disappointing, but hopefully the FA will make up for it.

Well, the envelope finally arrived. All I can say is that, while Smith may be generous to many with their financial aid, we didn’t see any of that. Thank goodness my daughter has some fantastic offers from other schools.

Congratulations to everybody. I hope that you/your daughters have an incredible four years at Smith. My daughter will have an incredible four years somewhere else.

So the finaid packages are on the way now?

They were mailed on the 23rd. We got ours yesterday (West coast).

Woohoo! Hoping for good news, but if not, I may be able to cope with just the Zollman… we really would like more though

Financial aid comes with the whole package. At least it did for people I know.

LostCoast- sorry to hear about that. I’ve had to rule out a school (maybe more, I’ve only gotten 3 financial aid packages so far) because of finances, and it is not a good feeling to know that you are accepted, but didn’t get enough money. I’m glad your daughter has other options. I’m leaning towards another school.
