<p>Hello guys, I know this may sound ridiculous, but I think I accidentally applied for aerospace engineering for ucsd other than mechanical that was the major I intended to apply. I just got accepted by ucsd yesterday in that major. Is there any way to change my major to mechanical engineering?</p>

…it happen to me, i chose the wrong major on my app, when i got accepted i just switched it online and it was cool. but your major sounds a bit more complicated lol mine is linguistics :D…</p>
<p>The problem is that both Aerospace and Mechanical are impacted, so it’s not as easy as just changing them online. You’ll really need to contact UCSD counselors and plead your case.</p>

Yeah i was accepted this week.</p>
<p>They probably saw your major selection and thought, “Mechanical? What’s this guy thinking? Put him in Aerospace. He can thank us later.”</p>
<p>It’s not a big deal, still accept the admission offer and send your SIR to make sure you get priority funding, and take care of your major after you start. If you don’t accept SIR and take care of your financial aid, they might fix your major but you’ll have to start a quarter late or even worse, next year, because you didn’t take care of your financial aid.</p>
