Hey everyone, I just got accepted by Richmond today; but I was not awarded any financial aid.
Do you think is there anything I can negotiate?

Same Situation with me. I'm an international student from Bulgaria, so it's impossible for me to come up with the money.. Any advice?

are you guys international? because i didn't recieve any type of letter yet...

Hey Finch, relax. Snail mail, you know. I'm Vietnamese

You will probably get financial aid in a separate letter. That's how I got my packages when I was in high school. First are the decisions, then come the financial aid packages.

wmalum: It actually said in our acceptance letters that we wouldn't be given financial aid. There were less than 10% of the internationals who got any at all.

really? Anyways, if you're international, it may be more difficult to get it because of the American system for it runs through the federal government. Elevatorlove, are you international or American? I had a Thai friend who got a full ride to Richmond and he said that UR does give a lot of scholarships to them.

Yeah, I'm an international (and so are the others who got accpeted in this thread). I knew I couldn't afford to go to Richmond, but I heard they were generous with giving financial aid to international applicants, so I thought I could try to apply. Maybe they're just relatively generous compared to other schools that don't offer any financial aid at all...

bronbron, are you from Vietnam, then? Since the University has been trying very hard to make the student body diverse, they should give you at least some aid to encourage you to attend. There aren't that many Asian students originally from Asia at Richmond.
