Got Accepted to Sierra and Taft College in California.

I'm not too sure about going.
My only other options are SUNY schools of which I applied to because they're closer with housing.
I immediately got into those.
Anyone from these areas? Suny schools are getting further out of reach because my guidance counselor stopped helping me.
I'm going to be homeless due to an Abusive family, and my grades weren't to well in HS because of that. (I'm autistic by the way)

The only other app I've sent an Official Transcript for is Herkimer and I have yet to hear back.
Please let me know that there are other open admission schools out here for me?

I want to major in Visual/Performing arts.

I don’t know why you picked remotely located California community colleges. I’m in CA but I had to google them. CA community colleges are set up for transfer to CSU or UC and you would have to pay Out of State fees for both the CC and the transfer target.

But you said you got into SUNYs. Go there. That is a better bet, 4 year college, and you are instate.

Do you have a social worker?

From the limited information, it sounds like a SUNY school would be the better choice. SUNYs are cheaper (if you are a NY resident), four year institutions, and more people know of them. But wouldn’t you have had to accept the offer from a SUNY school by now?

The suny would be more affordable, but how would you pay for either school? did your parents fill out fafsa? if so, will they do so next year?

How would you pay for any calif school, including transportation to go there?

Are you being consulted by a social worker? If not, please do so, they will know what to do.
I am also puzzled that you come to California to go to a community college. How are you going to pay for the college any way?

How much does each college cost and how are they paid for?

And who is going to provide room and board, if you attend either CC? The two schools are 300 miles apart, so it is unlikely to have some one locally provide room, board and transportation.

I have some scholarship money that I was awarded that would pay for room and board. I’m an out of state resident for all of the schools I applied to. It’s either this or no school at all. I don’t think I’m capable of being homeless since I can be non verbal at times.

Why california Community colleges???
Go to the sUNY!

I wanted to be as far away from my family as possible. The SUNY is a good idea, and I favor it more, it’s just that at the time, I needed a school that didn’t require transcripts. However, now that I’ve been accepted to one of the Suny schools. I have a question. What’s a Final Transcript?

The final transcript is the transcript for all your four years HS work, after graduating from HS.

I gave them that, but it’s telling my they have the official and not the final, and I really don’t know what to give them seeing as that’s the only one my school gives out.

You need to call to clearify

Have you completed your senior year yet? May 24 seems too early for that. You won’t get a final transcript until all of your grades including finals are posted.

I’ve graduated already, I had to take 2 gap years off so I’m going back at the old ripe age of 19

These California community colleges don’t have room&board. If you got a scholarship for R&B, the SUNY would be a better choice.
Which SUNYs did you get into?

SUNY is a much much better option. You will be at a 4 year. Those random CC’s in CA will have a lot of people who drop out and are not focused on getting to a 4 year. You won’t have to worry about your classes transferring or not to the 4 year. Perhaps the SUNY portal is not set up right for people who only need to send one transcript. Call and/or email them because your transcript is both Official and Final in one.

I got into Onondaga and Monroe, I’m waiting on Genesee and Herkimer currently

Have you applied to any 4 year Universities? What are your stats, perhaps we can provide some directions.

I have not.
Didn’t do well in HS. Was late diagnosed with an ASD. Showed signs of improvement after I gotten treatment, however it wasn’t enough to get me up to a 2.0. I don’t have many F’s on my transcript but a lot of my classes were pass/fail. When I graduated, I met way over my credit requirements so that’s how I even walked the stage. My guidance counselor wrote a recommendation letter for me, and I’m taking my ACT’s on the 14th.

If I’m able to get above a 25 do you think colleges wouldn’t mind? I’m excellent at tests, projects, and essays which is how I passed. But classroom participation was 50% of the grade, and homework was 20% I don’t want them to think I can’t handle homework or class rooms cause I definitely can now… I’m sorry for the infodump :c
