Got an e-mail from Harvard...

I got an e-mail from an admissions officer wanting to do a Skype interview with me to talk about one of my ECs in particular.

I already had an interview with Harvard last month, too.

I'm really quite surprised that we're so close to the release of admissions and they want to interview me another time...

Anyway, anyone else get an e-mail? What should I think about it?

Wow. Take it seriously. This might be important to your app since its so close. They’re still considering you!

loltoasty is right, they are still interested in you thats why they want to know more about you, good luck and nail your interview.

don’t be too nervous though. Take it easy and really be yourself. I think you have a great shot :)

Congrats, it means you have a serious chance at being accepted. You’ll probably be asked to clarify some details on your ECs. They want to hear a personal story from you. Good luck, and don’t fret.

Yes, that’s what I initially thought (and hoped for) as well. I know I have a really great opportunity to possibly seal the deal here and I’m going to give it the hugest effort I can possibly give. Thanks so much guys and good luck to you all.

Spiffy, if you don’t mind my asking, what ec do the admissions people wanna talk about? Whatever it is, you must’ve done a hell of a job with that… Congrats with the additional chance!

thomasrosal, I started a nonprofit business. If you want more info, feel welcome to PM me.

I had my interview. She ended up asking about way more than she mentioned in the e-mail, which is definitely a great thing. It couldn’t have went better. Thanks guys.

^that’s really impressive. I hope you make it!

Thanks man, I wish the best for you too.

I got a phone call last year with the exact same situation. So did someone else from the same high school. Supposedly, about 100 people get this second interview, and this is literally a decision-maker or not. I think it’s the interview where they try to understand you more, while deciding whether to waitlist or accept you. I ended up getting accepted, while the same person from my school got waitlisted. Good luck!
