I am from New Zealand
- Do only shortlisted applicants get an interview in countries like New Zealand
- I got an interview from someone who is an admissions officer rather than an alumni (any one know why ?)
Interview in like 15 hours so any help would be appreciated.
Neither of your curiosity is important. Just don’t mess up an interview.
Good luck with the interview. I would say it’s a positve sign. When my S applied he did not get an interview (and ultimately was not accepted).
Good luck - and tell us how it went.
Harvard is one of the places that make every possible effort to interview all applicants - in person, by phone, by skype/video chat. As you can imagine, this means that there are too many applicants for the admissions officers to do all of the interviews (well they could but the admissions staff would have to be huge) so the admissions office relies on alumni around the world to help out. That you have an admissions officer rather an an alum as an interviewer probably indicates that there aren’t any alumni near you who are currently on the list of interview volunteers.
