Got into Honors 2 months late?

Umm, well the title pretty much says it all. I find out I got into honors just now so I'm feeling kinda lost (though excited!). Can someone tell me what the benefits of honors generally are, what good optional programs are offered by it (if any), and honors housing?

One thing the program will try to do is to group you in classes with other honors students. Congratulations. Review what you've already checked off for a housing preference and yes, definitely, request honors housing as a first choice.

hey how did you find out? did you recieve a letter in the mail about it?

ya, I received two letters just yesterday. I was really surprised considering when I called they told me I probably wasn't in honors since I hadn't gotten any notification yet (that was a month ago, lol). I'm in CLA by the way, maybe that makes a difference.

Tokenadult, do the benefits of honors housing outweigh the negatives? I've heard Middlebrook rooms are really small, and I assume most of my class would be on the East Bank, not the West.

I agree that I've heard that the rooms in Middlebrook are small, but the students don't spend most of their time crammed in their rooms, but interacting with other honors students in common areas of the dorm. The walk from the West Bank to the East Bank is good exercise and gorgeous (a view of the Mississippi River valley) most of the year.

A walk in good weather would be alright with me, but I worry about what is probably a long trip in the winter.

Anymore more opinions (although you're still welcome to talk tokenadult, lol, your advice is really helpful)? I think I only have a few days to decide about housing! O, and anything else about the honors program would be nice too.

If you time it well, you can just take the Campus Connector buses in the winter. They run ALL the time.
