Got Into Sd (recinded?)

what gpa do you need to not get recinded. im scared. i got into UCSD but i might get a C in ap english cuz i havent done a single assignment all semester or read a single book. ive just been passing the tests randomly. i have like a B-.

sum1 said it was 3.0 but i dont know if itz weighted or not. can sum1 who knows FORSURE ppl tell me what gpa i need to not get recinded by UCSD.

thanks.

I called UCSD admissions and am 100 percent sure that all you need is a 3.0 WEIGHTED. You also cant get any Ds or Fs obviously. Best of luck sir

yep weighted

i doubt they will revoke your admission if u get a D or F but u must get over 3.0 gpa weighted

my friend last year who got into berkeley got a D and was put on academic probation

Forget what you need to get rescinded and concentrate on working harder.

What's better, knowing for sure you'll get rescinded or working hard and preventing it?

ya um... dima i didnt joing CC to get motivational lectures or some crap. i just do what i do and rep ite. i need to slack off so i can blaze more. ya i do it big. so basically i need all Cs cuz i have all APs. i dont even need to do hw or open a book i can get that. niceeeeeee.

Hmmm.... you might want to rethink your plan of action there Budda. The UC's, and UCSD in particular, are very alert to any slackage in overall performance when they look at those final senior reports for the last semester of senior year. If you've had C's in AP classes all along, that's one thing. (and of course if you did you probably wouldn't have gotten in in the first place) ...but if you suddenly drop to all C's, that will be scruntinized VERY closely. Blaze more if you want, but don't let those grades drop.

ya but my classes at montavista are so hard. shesh... how sad. after 9 ap classes and 3.5 yrs of boring highschool life ppl deserve a break. however you are right; i should just work in english french and physics instead of slack off.

i heard even though the minimum is 3.0 you should at least get a 3.4 in your senior year

You think classes are hard now? Boy, are you in for an awakening next year. UCSD is a serious school with serious students.

I am scared too.....I thought I had a 3.0 unweighted, except i soon discovered that one or two of my classes might not even be counted as UC approved. if one of them isnt counted and the other is.....I have a 2.8 =/.....rigth now im taking 3 AP's and 1 college course...so if its weighted..omg...but I already did my SIR, and i could've sworn that isaw "must maintain 3.0 unweighted"....=((...i dont remember if it really said unweighted but thats what i picture in my mind. I guess I will call them just for confirmation.

what is SIR>>?? please explain

Buddahaddub, I'd rescind your admission based on your second post alone. As a Monta Vista alum, I am embarrased by your behavior. And no, senior year isn't that hard. I took 4 APs, got straight A's both semesters, and 5's on every AP test. Senior year was my easiest year at MV.

Statement Of Intent To Register

Aren't UC approved courses just all academic courses? So non-UC approved courses are just PE?

PE and ROP classes mostly. Not all electives either i believe.

what happens if you miss the SIR??

um norcalguy...first of all, u reely dont know his situation (example: ur school might be mayb easier than his to maintain better grades). Also regardless of whatever grades you maintain senior year, its always good to know what you at least need to get done...I am embarassed that u put a post on CC like that without any real knowlege of Buddha's circumstances...as a straight A student Id expect you to have the common sense not to make quick judgements...

o and another note...he could be kidding in his second post and its true that he did not ask for what he should or shouldnt do. He may be very rude and blunt about it but he definitely has a point.

miss SIR? you either accept or decline haha. anyway i called ucsd myself, and they said WEIGHTED. i also emailed and they said WEIGHTED. so i believe it now. =)))

Don’t get straight C’s. The fact that you said you get B-'s on books you didn’t read reminds me of my middle school 7th grade Honors L.A. teacher. She gave true-or-false quizzes. If you read the book you’d only do a little better than if you didn’t.
