So the unexpected happened. I got into both UCLA and Berkeley through appeals. Now I feel kinda bad. I got rejected at first, and essentially begged and pleaded to get in through appealing. There are kids who are qualified, intelligent and hardworking that got in and deserve to be in. Lots of you have taken numerous AP classes, IBs, won awards for academics while I just turned the engine on this year.

Here are my stats:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1064565729-post5.html

Compare that to everyone else's stats that got admitted to UCLA and Berkeley. I feel totally underqualified as I only started taking APs and Honors this year. Nonetheless, I feel intimidated by the students at both schools.

Luckily, day by day, I feel that my fears are getting smaller and smaller for some reason. I got into several other schools but Berkeley and UCLA were my top two choices. So since I got into both, I eliminated all the other schools from my list. I love both schools but my impression of them kinda scares me.

Another important thing to know about me is that I plan on living in Japan, so the name and prestige of the school is a huge deal due to the fact that the Japanese have an obsession with the name of the school. (IE. a Claremont McKenna degree is unheard of in Japan and is not likely to get you a job despite the fact that the academics are as strong. if not stronger than UCLA)

I want to go into business and because of that Berkeley would probably be the obvious choice because it has Haas. However, I'm worried about the cutthroat environment and I don't want to go to Berkeley only to get rejected from Haas. On the other hand, UCLA's feel is unparalled, and the academics are stellar. I fell in love with economics this year after taking AP econ in high school and I love UCLA's bizecon program and econ program. Still, it seems very difficult to get in. I would love to go to both schools, but I'm concered about my GPA as I also want to get an MBA. As for recruiting, it doesn't really matter. Through personal relationships, starting this summer, I will be an assistant/intern for my dad's friend who is a managing partner at Goldman Sachs Japan and I will be working there for the next 4 years hopefully.

Will I be fine at UCLA or Berkeley? Anyone wanna give me some guidance on what I should do? Or am I just worrying too much and should I just man up?

Thanks
