I wish. A lot of the people that got accepted at my school (because it's competitive) already got accepted or have a good chance of getting into an Ivy League school. I think at least three or four already got accepted early decision/action.

By now, I'm leaning towards the UCF honors college, but I'm not even sure if I would want to transfer into UF as a Junior if I happen to like it there. If my family can come up with the money (and I get a scholarship from them) I would really like to look at Illinois-Champaign. Maybe grad school at UF is a possibility.

If I were one of you who was accepted online but does not receive an admissions letter by tomorrow, I would call the admissions office and check if the glitch is real or rumer.

Wow. I just looked at my rejection letter again, and the signature at the bottom is REAL! (I put it under the light, saw ink, and did a wet finger test on it. Yeah, I'm that obsessive.) Did my admission officer actually take the time to hand-sign my rejection? She must have hated me a lot and got a good laugh out of my application. LOL.

once again, this same rumor is the same rumor that went out last year and it never held true.....however, as seiclan says, it does say in the acceptance letter online that NOTHING is final until you receive actual physical confirmation in the mail. but my thing is, if they have to say something like that, that means they are alrady saying its possible to screw ppls acceptances up...and if thats the case, why wouldnt they be MORE attentive in this area. like, why should someone have to wonder if they really got in.

yea dont worry, this SAME thing was spread last year. it's nothing, if you were accepted online, you are really accepted. i dont think a university, especially one as famous as UF, would make the same mistake twice, if the other mistake even occurred. its just not likely, and almost inconceivable.

in plus, they could face lawsuit if that happened, because that may have caused other students to send in tuition deposits, which are NONrefundable. plus, some students have already notified other colleges that they wont be attending, so if they didnt really get into UF, that means they basically just got screwed over if they told other colleges they wont be attending. so there is no way this rumor is true. UF could be sued big time. and even if 1000 people actually WERE NOT accepted, its UF's fault, and they very well better turn those rejections into acceptions, because they can and WILL be sued if they dont.

hope that put comfort to people's conscience

I, too, have not yet received my housing CD or my admissions packet. I sent admissions an e-mail yesterday afternoon and I received a response yesterday (quite quickly, I was impressed) saying that some admissions packets were sent Friday and others were sent Monday. The response also said to contact the admissions department if you don't get the packet by the end of the week.

Admissions told me to e-mail housing about the CD, which I did this morning. I let you know what I hear from them.

I got my admissions packet today too! YAY I'm officially a GATOR!! =D I got the housing CD last week, but mine doesn't work so maybe I should email them to try to get another one..

ok i got my packet today, but it sucks =P only has a lousy letter and a little pamphlet thing lol. idk i wanted some extras like what i got for Georgia Tech. did any of you get anything else in your packet?
